Battle Of The Bull Run
By: Brooke Mazzocca
One summer day in Virginia, the Jones family decided to go on a picnic. There was a battle a few miles away from the Jones house and back in there day there wasn’t much entertainment like TV, IPods, Iphones and stuff like that so this battle was a big deal. The Jones were cheering for the North because the general’s name was Scott and the Jones’s mother’s sister’s nephew’s cousin’s neighbor had a dad named Scott too! So as the battle began, the soldiers dropped dead left and right. This was the first solider to soldier battle. Now the North had a plan to beat the South. Scott would march his troops to Richmond and take over the capital and boom… North wins. So as the war continues, the North and South meet at Bull Run. Scott and his troops began to push Lee (the Southern general) and his troops back which made the North look like a beast! The Jones were loving this. Eating their strawberries and what not. Until a fresh group of reserves come from behind! And everyone saw Jackson, with his sword up in the air, bolts whizzing by. But he wasn’t afraid to die. If God wanted him to die, than so be it. Jackson and a group of reserves charged as the other Southerners were falling back! Joe, one of the Southern soldiers saw Jackson and the reserves and told everyone to go behind the reserves and Jackson an then charge as a whole. Joe’s friend James saw what was going on and helped Joe guide the troops. While they were doing this they a Northern troop shoot and killed Joe and James! The Jones family were cheering with joy. The South still received the message and charged. The North quickly was pushed back all the way to were they came from. And the South won. The Jones family was devastated.
